CAPLP Career Connect
Our CAPLP Career Connect Program links low-income families with skills training to obtain high demand careers such as nursing, welding and other trades. Our coaches work with families every step of the way to overcome personal barriers to obtaining and maintaining employment. This program is an innovative partnership with M State and the United Way of Cass-Clay. For more information about current trainings, please call (218) 512-1500 or email.
Are you currently enrolled in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)? If so, you may be eligible for SNAP Employment & Training (E & T) which helps SNAP participants access training and support services to help them enter or move up in the workforce. SNAP E & T also helps to reduce barriers to work by providing support services – such as transportation and childcare – as participants prepare for and obtain employment. Reach out to CAPLP for eligibility at 218.512.1500 or email or click here for more information.
Because staying employed often depends on predictable healthcare costs, our coaching also helps families map out practical supports like pharmacies with low prices when prescriptions or routine medications are part of the monthly budget. Price variation can be large even within the same community, and without a plan it becomes another barrier that leads to skipped doses, missed shifts, and avoidable setbacks in training. When affordability is handled proactively alongside transportation and childcare participants can focus on completing the program and sustaining work, instead of constantly firefighting preventable expenses.
